August 5, 2003 Release v1.7 of the T.U.N.A. is now available. This update updated the way T.U.N.A handles bandwidth (more efficient). It fixed a minor bug that could have caused memory loss. It added online help menus. It changes the actual 'Look and Feel' of most existing menus. It also updated much of the back-end programming which resulted in a very increased system speed. June 24, 2003 Release v1.6 of the T.U.N.A. contains the following additions/upgrades: Now displays a log of events on the failed DHCP clients menu. 'View Active Clients' now shows the seconds/minutes/hours that each client has been idle for. BUG FIX: The selection of an IP address while adding a client would not check the shared queues before allowing the IP address to be used. This has been fixed. The start page now displays the new SSH Daemon service. The following console updates are now implemented: funciton 'R' - restrict URL, now much better. function 'T' - better system, asks/confirms now. function - register '01x40' manually set version. function - register '01x05' manually set interfaces. function - register '01x20' toggle 'display log' on failed clients. function 'H' - added new, ssh ability (can now ssh in). function - register '01x12' ssh daemon port. function - register '01x13' delete SH keys. May 20, 2003 Release v1.5 of the T.U.N.A. is here. New Feature: Network exploration tool and security scanner (NMAP). NMAP is a powerful, fast port scanner. NMAP also offers a number of advanced features such as remote OS detection via TCP/IP fingerprinting. The ARP Security screen now displays the client name (if any available) to make things easier to read. 'Secure Clients On Boot' (Arp Menu) will now automatically secure/unsecure and update MAC ID's when deleting, adding or modifying a user. The 'View Accounting' and 'Modify Clients' menu now displays only a set number of records instead of the total number of records which can become very long and hard to find what you're looking for. It is now possible to exclude certain patterns in a client's name from viewing in accounting or when displaying all clients. New: Many of the menu options are now clickable which will sort the output of accounting/clients in many ways. New: While viewing clients, it is now possible to click on the 'MAC-ID' field and have all MAC-ID's translated to the actual manufacturer of the network device. April 29th, 2003 Release v1.4 of the T.U.N.A. is now available. This release has a bug fix: there was a bug which prevented you from modifying a client and changing the client's name from two words to three or more words. This has been rectified so that names can now be as long as you desire. Accounting records and bandwidth uploaded/downloaded stats are now easier to read. Commas are put in their respective places (4932 bytes is now 4,932 bytes). On the search accounting records, the date you search by now defaults to a more suitable search date. The start page now displays the number of modules that are installed. The console menu now displayes a shortcut to the module registers. There is now a module [M] option with sub-options. While viewing accounting totals, it is now possible to sort by most uploaded/most downloaded. February 24, 2003 Release v1.3 of T.U.N.A. has arrived. This new release updates DNS for security and reliability. Further, the network time daemon protocol can now be enabled not only as a client, but also as a server, allowing you to 'point' your Windows, Unix/Linus, and Cisco/3Com/Lucent gear at the T.U.N.A. in order to maintain time to the second throughout your entire network. It is now possible to change the graphical user interface (GUI) from port 80 to any other port, another change made for security. Another neat new option is that a new system has been implemented within the T.U.N.A. that now allows for modules to be installed giving it more flexibility than ever before. The module PCLI (Port-Redirect Command Line Interface) has been created. This is a command line interface for port redirects which is much more powerful than the standard GUI's. November 14, 2002 Release v1.2 of T.U.N.A. is now here. This has an PPPoE update - more options to use PPPoE with an external Radius Server. There is also an ARP Security Update - this keeps others from stealing your customers' IP addresses to gain access. This makes T.U.N.A. more secure than most other wireless controllers on the market today. We also added an option to the telnet/shell, listing interfaces on both LAN and WAN. Additionally, we added an option so you can disable telnet on the EX2 series since it now has Console Support. There were 2 bug fixes as well: (1) Fixed a problem with the drop down menus on the GUI, and (2) Fixed a minor problem with 'Revert To Factory Default Settings'. October 12, 2002 Release v1.1 is available. This release added a 'View Clients' option which allows you to see the last U/L and D/L activity for each client. It also added support for a Network Time Daemon to automatically sync the time to an atomic clock. August 2, 2002 Release v1.0 is now available! We have found no bugs since v0.7 Beta, thus have decided to release the final 1st full release of our T.U.N.A.. July 16, 2002 Version 0.7 Beta has now been released. This latest release updates the web server built in with its latest version and patches. This also adds a full DNS Resolver in the T.U.N.A.. Further, you can now back up all accounting data in the T.U.N.A. when doing backups. July 1, 2002 Version 0.6b Beta has just been released. This new release adds an auto-update button to T.U.N.A.. It also enhances the built-in accounting system so you can now get statistics on each user on a monthly basis instead of only daily. Further, the T.U.N.A. now supports group queueing - you can share a specific speed over a set subnet. June 22, 2002 Latest Upgrade Available! T.U.N.A. has been upgraded to version 0.5Beta. This latest version adds Port Blocking technology and also enhances the Port Forwarding ability as well as the Backup/Recovery ability. June 5, 2002 More New Features! T.U.N.A. now does 'Smart Port Forwarding' in addition to all its other features. 'Smart Port Forwarding' allows you to forward by name - you don't have to cross reference via IP address, for simplicity. This is perfect for customers behind the T.U.N.A. that want to allow connectivity to their networks via only a specific port/ports, yet want to also remain protected behind a firewall. This latest release version 0.4Beta. May 30, 2002 New Software and Feature Addition!. The Ultimate Network Appliance current software revision is 0.3Beta. In this latest beta, we added PPPoE. You can now enter more than 2 DNS servers in the T.U.N.A.. There was a locking problem with the web interface that would cause it to not start up at times. This has been fixed. When you modified or deleted a client, the events (if any) for that client would remain -- this also has been fixed. It was possible to install an empty event that did not 'belong' to any clients. This has been fixed. May 20, 2002 The latest version of T.U.N.A. software has just been put into production. This is version 0.2aBeta. This new version added the ability to use built-in timers for specific events; for example, you can turn ON business ABC at 7:00am and turn them OFF at 5:00pm if you desire, all automatically. April 17, 2002 A new version of T.U.N.A. software has been released, version 0.1aBeta. This added the ability to Authorize and control upload and download speed via IP address in addition to MAC ID. It further added additional upload and download speed choices. March 30, 2002 We have just released the first Beta of The Ultimate Network Appliance (T.U.N.A.) (formerly known as the Bandwidth Resolutioner Unit, or BRU for short). This is version 0.1Beta. ![]() (Opens in New Window) |
